These Terms are available in English and Traditional Chinese. In the event of any inconsistency, the English version shall prevail.

1. Acceptance of Terms

4. User Content and IP Licence

Licence grant: By submitting User Content, you grant SchoolTime a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, perpetual, and irrevocable licence to use, copy, store, display, adapt, distribute, and communicate to the public the User Content for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting SchoolTime, including after your account is deleted or terminated.

Ownership: You retain ownership of your User Content. SchoolTime does not claim ownership.

Moral rights: You waive all moral rights in the User Content to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Your representations: By submitting User Content, you represent that:

(a) You own or have the right to submit the User Content.
(b) Your User Content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property or other rights.
(c) Any review reflects your genuine firsthand experience.
(d) You have not received any payment, discount, incentive, or other benefit in exchange for posting, modifying, or deleting any review.
(e) You are not an employee, agent, owner, or competitor of any school you are reviewing.

5. Content Guidelines

Names or identifies individual teachers or staff. This may constitute a criminal offence under s.64(3A) of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (maximum penalty: HKD 1,000,000 fine and 5 years imprisonment). You may describe a role (e.g., "the Form 3 homeroom teacher") but must not include identifiers sufficient to uniquely identify an individual.
Contains false or misleading information, or statements of fact known to be false.
Contains hate speech, discriminatory content, harassment, threats, or incitement to violence.
Contains spam, commercial advertising, or solicitation.
Infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
Constitutes impersonation of any person or entity.
Contains any illegal content.

6. Moderation and Removal

SchoolTime does not undertake to proactively monitor all User Content but will act on notice.

Notice and takedown: Any person may report content by contacting legal@schooltime.hk. SchoolTime will review reports within 14 calendar days.

Counter-notice: The content author may submit a counter-notice asserting that the content is lawful.

User Content represents the personal views of its authors and does not represent the views, recommendations, or endorsements of SchoolTime.

7. School Data Disclaimer

SchoolTime does not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or currency of school information.
No representation or warranty is made regarding school addresses, fees, curriculum, admission requirements, capacity, or extracurricular programmes.
Users must confirm school information directly with the relevant school or the Education Bureau before relying on it for any decision.
Schools may submit corrections by contacting legal@schooltime.hk.

9. Limitation of Liability

SchoolTime is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or opportunity.

This limitation applies whether the claim is in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, in accordance with the Control of Exemption Clauses Ordinance (Cap. 71, s.7).

10. Indemnification

(a) Your breach of these Terms
(b) Your User Content
(c) Your violation of any law or third-party rights
(d) Any claim that your User Content caused harm to a third party

Indemnification is limited to direct losses actually caused by the breach, consistent with the proportionality requirements of Cap. 71.

11. Termination

Your right: You may terminate your account at any time via account settings or by contacting support.

Effect on content: Termination does not automatically remove your User Content. Personal identifiers (name, profile photo) will be removed or anonymised within 14 days. Review text and ratings are retained in anonymised form, attributed to "Anonymous." The licence granted in Section 4 survives termination.

You should delete specific content before account deletion if you want it removed.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Dispute resolution:

(a) You agree to first attempt informal resolution by contacting SchoolTime within 30 days of the dispute arising.
(b) If the dispute is not resolved informally, either party may pursue resolution before the courts of the Hong Kong SAR, which shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
(c) Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

13. Changes to These Terms

Material changes (including changes to the IP licence scope, liability cap, dispute resolution, prohibited content definitions, or age requirement): We will provide 30 days advance notice by email to registered users and require affirmative re-consent at your next login.

Non-material changes (typographical corrections, reorganisation without substantive change): The "Last updated" date above will be updated. Continued use after the update date constitutes acceptance.
